Mamdani quoted Margaret Thatcher on stage, got his laugh, then spent the rest of the answer arguing with the one part of it that's actually true.

In this episode, I take apart his rebuttal: Milton Friedman on why political freedom and free markets come as a package, what New York already learned the hard way about rent and price controls, and what happens to states like California and Connecticut when leftist policy gets lived out all the way.

He never answered Thatcher's actual claim. He went after it, the same way he went after Reagan, because making radical ideas sound normal starts with chipping away at the things everybody used to agree on.
